[Bangkok] To be honest, I hadn’t planned to visit this café in Bangkok, but the steady queue and people posing for photos outside caught my attention.

Convo in Bang Rak, Bangkok, is known as a multifaceted café with soft cream interiors, nestled in the vibrant Charoenkrung area.

So why is this cafe famous, or insta-famous again?

It is known for its quail egg sculpture near the entrance – which makes it hard for young Thai cafe hoppers to resist snapping that quick photo.

When I visited, a huge Christmas tree stood in its place.

The café spans three levels.

The ground floor houses the café space, where patrons can enjoy a range of beverages – from signature drinks and cold brews to non-coffee options like Thai Tea Cocoa and Matcha Strawberry.

The second floor serves as a retail space, offering a variety of items for shopping, while the third floor is an art gallery.

The signature drinks include the Dirty (THB 150), a blend of espresso, honey, cold milk cream, and honeycomb, and the Convo (THB 160), which mixes espresso, coconut nectar, Himalayan salted cold foam, coconut, and pandan.

Happi-Nest (THB 160) combines espresso with white chocolate milk, Ayutthaya candy floss, and marshmallow, while First Kiss (THB 160) is a refreshing mix of berry tea, rose, peach lime, and egg white.

One of the café’s signature offerings is its take on the traditional Thai sweet, Kanom Kai (THB 150 for 4 pcs).

Served in a whimsical egg carton, this treat offers a playful presentation that distinguishes it from typical egg-based sweets. It arrives hot with a crispy exterior and a soft, aromatic buttery inside.

There is even a Truffle (THB 180 for 4 pcs) version.

Think of it as something between a madeleine and a sponge cake, but with a richer, slightly more indulgent flavour.
