[Bangkok] After all that heat in Bangkok, I wanted to settle for some cooling desserts and bookmarked Ba Hao Tian Mi.

Located in the Yaowarat area at Chinatown, Ba Hao Tian Mi is a dessert bar that has made a name for itself by offering a modern take on traditional Chinese desserts.

The small shop is tucked away in a narrow alley, and it might be easy to overlook if you are not specifically searching for it.

There is also another outlet at upscale EmSphere shopping mall which is near Phrom Pong BTS station.

The menu focuses on a select range of desserts, with their signature pudding being the most popular item.

Their pudding is a blend of silky, smooth textures often paired with fresh fruits or other complementary ingredients.

Options include Goji Berry Pudding (THB 108), Boba Milk Tea Pudding (THB 118), Peanut Butter Pudding (THB 118), and the ever-popular Mango Pudding (THB 128).

For those seeking something different beyond the traditional, there are the Black Sesame Pudding (THB 128), Pandan Kaya Pudding (THB 128), Rambutan Granita Pudding (THB 148) and Uji Matcha Azuki Pudding (THB 148).

I had the Mango Pudding (THB 128) which features ripe, juicy mango pieces on top of a lightly sweetened tofu base.

While the Coconut Matcha Pudding (THB 168) was top on the menu, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

The uji matcha pudding had a strong, slightly bitter flavor that didn’t blend well with the creamy sweetness of the coconut sorbet.

The roasted coconut chips added a nice crunch, but overall, the combination felt a bit off-balance, with the flavors clashing rather than complementing each other.

Prices at Ba Hao Tian Mi are a bit on the higher side, especially considering the portion sizes.

However, the quality of the ingredients and comfort can justify the cost for those looking to indulge in something a bit special.
