[Bangkok] Wait, is this a construction site or something?
Despite its somewhat unfinished facade, do look out for Halfway Brunch & Roastery, tucked away in the Sathorn district of Bangkok.
I happened to chance upon Halfway, which is a short walk from another brunch café Fran’s.
The restaurant’s unassuming exterior of raw, industrial feel, is marked by bright orange scaffolding.
This contrasts with its well-designed interior, with a semi-open kitchen and a sleek coffee bar where you can watch the magic unfold.
The menu blends familiar Thai elements with modern brunch staples.
Their signature dishes include the Glazed n’ Grilled Pork Belly with Okonomiyaki (THB 370), The Fiery Scramble Egg with Sourdough (THB 420), and Yuzu Kissed Salmon Benedict (THB 380).
For something heartier, the Aussie Wagyu Steak and Egg (THB 680) or the unique Dry-aged Duck Congee (THB 320) are recommended options.
Vegetarian choices on the plant-based side include the refreshing Veggie Mary (THB 320), Mushroom Party Toast (THB 290), and the wholesome Health Bowl (THB 320).
If you have a sweet tooth, Fried Brioche and Yuzu (THB 230) and the indulgent Japanese Hot Cake (THB 330) provide satisfying dessert options.
Coffee is no afterthought here, with the team behind Unfinished Coffee Roaster ensuring that the drinks are just as creative as the food.
You get signature options like the Cloudy Latte (THB 180), Salted Caramel Crunchy (THB 160), and the refreshing Apple O’Coffee (THB 180). Smoothies include the tropical Morning Call (THB 200), Lilac Sky (THB 200), and the fruity Midday Medley (THB 200).
In terms of service and atmosphere, Halfway manages to strike a balance between being trendy and inviting.
The staff are friendly, and the laid-back vibe makes it an excellent spot for both casual meet-ups and quiet, working mornings.
