[Johor Bahru] Happened to chance upon Sorella Cafe in Johor Bahru, located at 48 Jalan Indah 28/1 in the Taman Bukit Indah area.
The café features a menu that leans towards sweet treats and desserts, which are particularly praised by cafe-goers online.
It has quite a welcoming atmosphere with merchandise sold at one side, though it does have rather ‘old-school’ European town vibes (think their choice of music also plays a part).
The cafe also offers a pleasant outdoor seating area adorned with succulents and large plants, adding to its charm and making it a picturesque spot for dining or enjoying a coffee.
If you are looking for sweet treats, you are in the right place. Their cakes can include Mango Passion Roll, Mix Berries Light Cheese, Genmaicha Yuzu, Coffee Tiramisu, and Seasalt Hazelnut Earl Grey.
I was quickly drawn to one of the highlights which is the Kori Lemon dessert.
The dessert features rich lemon curd infused with real lemon juice and zest, layered over a crunchy white chocolate almond crumble base.

I was curious about the Ondeh Ondeh Cake as well.
Looking like a much larger version of the traditional dessert, this cake incorporates pandan leaf extract, painstakingly extracted and concentrated over 24 hours to capture the essence of this beloved Southeast Asian flavour.
The cake is sweetened with premium gula melaka, lending a rich caramel note, though the gula melaka does not flow as one might expect when the cake is cut.
This slight drawback is offset by the use of extra virgin coconut oil, which ensures the cake remains moist and fluffy.
In terms of refreshing beverage options, there are concoctions like the GoldenBuzz, which combines fresh honey and lemon with espresso, and the Sunlit Citrus Espresso, a zesty mix of orange and espresso.
