[Johor Bahru] I was looking for a relaxing, aesthetic café near KSL City Mall, and found one conveniently at the ground level of Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre.

Space Cafe, is a relatively new establishment that opened its doors amidst the pandemic.

It stands out for its clean, spacious layout, accentuated by simple decorations and tables placed far apart.

This created an airy and relaxed atmosphere.

Apart from standard espresso-based drinks like cappuccinos and lattes, Space Cafe also offers several unique coffee creations.

It uses a specialty blend of Costa Rica, Brazil, and Indonesia beans.

Or you can go for one of their single-origin coffee beans such as the Ethiopia Gui Gerbicho (+RM1) from Guji Oromia.

As you take the first sip, the floral notes bloom delicately, creating a gentle, sweet finish.

The pomegranate and subtle hint of dried apricot added a twist of tartness, seamlessly blending with the sweetness of raspberries.

They have a number of coffees with fanciful names including Taste in Vienna (RM20), Caramel Cinnamon Cafe Latte (RM18), Caramel Biscotti Coffee (RM18), Orange Americano (RM18), Prugna Cold Brew (RM20), Mocha Fantasy (RM23), to Holy Grape (RM22).

The Caramel Cinnamon Cafe Latte (RM18) combines fresh milk, hot coffee brewed from Ethiopian beans, cinnamon powder, and melted brown sugar, topped with a torched cinnamon roll and a slice of dried apple.

If you are wondering about Holy Grape (RM22), it is a fusion of cold brew coffee with green grapes and jasmine green tea.

There are also various Iced Blended Drinks (RM18) with mocha, chocolate, matcha, Houjicha, or Genmaicha.

The food menu at Space Cafe includes various types of croissants, doughnuts, crème brûlée tarts, and other pastries that pair well with their coffee selections.

The pastries are displayed in a glass shelf next to the bar counter, inviting customers to select their preferred accompaniment.

There were Garlic Confit (RM7.50), Pepperoni Cheese (RM7.50), Truffle Roll (RM6), Chocolate Roll (RM6), Pain Au Chocolate (RM10), and Peach Danish (RM16.00).

Not bad, decent, though nothing really to shout about.

Admittedly, prices are slightly higher than the average JB café, probably because it is situated at a hotel.

The plus side is, it was not that crowded. And I liked that it opened early enough from 8am.

For those seeking a relaxing cafe experience in Johor Bahru.
