[London] Much have been heard or seen all over Instagram (from years ago) of Igloos over-seeing Tower Bridge and The Shard in London.

In fact, this spawned many copycat versions in other countries.

Yes, perhaps the most popular igloo aka glass house restaurant in London, Coppa Club at Tower Bridge is a charming, laid-back local hang-out and community space.

Since 2015, Coppa Club has grown to 9 venues across London and nearby counties: Sonning-on-Thames, Henley-on-Thames, Maidenhead, Streatley-on-Thames, Brighton, Clifton Village, Cobham Village, and Putney, and of course, Tower Bridge.

This is where you can add some photos to your Instagram feed, or your senses with exquisite views from your very own igloo dining.

However, a note is that the igloo booths need to be reserved in advance. Otherwise, you will be provided seats within the restaurant itself – which is not too bad a thing actually.

There was a time limit of 2 hours and strictly cannot be extended. (Not a big deal for us Singaporeans who usually eat faster than usual. Haha.) They seem to be particular about timings from the many email reminders received.

To answer your igloo questions: Yes, they are heated and remains quite cosy even during the windy winter period. There is also piped-in music, so that you don’t feel too hollow in an enclosed-space.

Do note that there is a minimum spend of £150 per Igloo that applies for peak reservations (£25 per person for off peak reservations) regardless of party size, though this was not that clearly stated during reservations.

Coppa Club

Coppa Club’s menu focuses on fuss-free European food from breakfast to small plates and snacks, to grilled mains, sourdough pizzas and healthy salads.

You can start your day with Buckwheat and Rye Pancakes (£9.50) with berries, granola, seeds, coconut yoghurt OR dry cured bacon, maple syrup and Netherend Farm Butter.

For a heavier brekkie, make it a Skillet Breakfast (£12.50) complete with two fried eggs, Cumberland sausage, bacon, black pudding, mushroom, tomato, baked beans, and toast.

The breakfast plate that I had was as straight-forward as it gets. Nothing too surprising, nothing too bad, but perhaps you can even get something better at your hotel’s breakfast.

There is a wide selection of weekend brunch dishes, nibbles & small plates, mains & grills, fresh pasta, salads & bowls, sourdough pizza, and a bunch of sides.

Coppa Club

Their signature burger Coppa Burger (£14) stacks a British beef patty cooked pink with mature Cheddar, tomato, lettuce, burger sauce in between a toasted seeded bun.

The Coppa Vegan Burger (£14) features a plant-based patty, vegan mozzarella, lettuce, and tomato. Both burgers are served with skinny fries.

Sweet tooths can perhaps choose their puddings, including the vegan-friendly Sticky Toffee Pudding (£7.50) made with crushed honeycomb, vanilla ice cream, and toffee sauce.

There are also the Flourless Chocolate Cake (£8.50) with caramelised white chocolate, coconut yoghurt; and Warm Treacle Tart (£8) with crème fraiche and candied orange.

Looking for vegetarian specials? Try their Chia Seed Pot (£4.50) with coconut, maple, and vanilla; Herb Salad (£6.5) including radish pomegranate, and sumac dressing; or the Spiced Roasted Cauliflower (£15) served with tahini dressing, pomegranate, and steamed rice.

The bar also serves a variety of carefully chosen wines, beer & cider, cocktails, no & low alcohol cocktails, smoothies, juices, and coolers.
