[London] Carhartt is all about tough, no-nonsense gear that lasts.
It is a clothing brand I can turn to when I need something durable but still looks good, especially when I am just hanging out overseas (because the material is generally on the thicker side).
The Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) is a contemporary line of the iconic brand, focusing on adapting their durable workwear for urban and streetwear fashion.
Imagine my surprise when I found a Carhartt Coffee in King’s Cross, London.
The coffee place is a hidden gem tucked inside the Carhartt WIP store, offering a laid-back vibe.
The small shop offers a variety of coffee options such as Espresso (£2.50), Long Black (£2.80), Cortado (£2.80), Flat White (£3.40), Latte (£3.40), Cappuccino (£3.40), and Mocha (£3.60).
There are also additions like Decaf or Large (+£0.50) and Oat or Soy Milk (+£0.50).
Other beverages include Tea (£2.30), Hot Chocolate (£3.50), Iced White Latte (£4.00), and Black Americano (£3.60).
The Cortado (made with equal parts espresso and steamed milk) is particularly well-balanced, while other options like Iced Americanos and Oat Lattes are also popular.
The Iced Oat Latte I had was surprisingly good, especially since I didn’t expect much from a coffee shop inside a clothing store.
One downside is the limited seating, which can make it difficult to find a spot during peak times.
The service is quick and friendly, despite being a small, often single-staff operation.
Prices are what one might expect for a specialty coffee shop in London – slightly above average, but worth it for the quality.
The café’s location, central but quiet, makes it an ideal stop for a quick coffee break session.
