The Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list for 2024 has been announced, with Tokyo’s restaurant Sézanne taking the top spot.
Sézanne, located in the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, is praised for its innovative approach to French cuisine, using high-quality Japanese ingredients.
The restaurant has made a significant jump in rankings, moving from No.17 in its first year to the top position now.
It is named after a town in France and is known for its extensive collection of champagnes and sparkling wines.
Singapore stands out in the list with nine restaurants making the cut, the highest for any city.
Odette (No. 10) is run by Chef Julien Royer, known for its exceptional French dining experience and has been in the top 10 since 2017.
There are Burnt Ends (No. 15) a modern barbecue place by Dave Pynt; Euphoria (No. 20) known for its ‘gastro botanica’ cuisine by Chef Jason Tan; and Born (No. 25) which blends French and Chinese cooking in a modern way.
Seroja (No. 31) is not only new to the list but also won the Highest New Entry Award. Chef Kevin Wong from Port Klang creates dishes inspired by the Malay Archipelago at Seroja.
Meta (No. 28) is another Singapore restaurant on the list, followed by Labyrinth (No. 30) and Les Amis (No. 38).
Lastly, Lolla (No. 43) led by Chef Johanne Siy, a past winner of Asia’s Best Female Chef rounds up the selection from Singapore.
